Today my guest is Linda Gorin, The Best to You. Linda and I will be talking about her business and next weekend’s celebration of Mother’s Day.
The Best to You began as a hobby in 1984. Soon, creating festive gifts for special people became a passion. Back then, the dining room table was the design area and a big order was more than six baskets at one time. It’s fun to remember when the thought of having their own gift basket company seemed like just a dream. It started to become a reality when they opened our first little shop in 1985. As the business grew, Linda celebrated six expansions. Today, The Best to You enjoys a reputation as one of the finest gift basket companies in the industry. They have been featured on Channel 8 and Channel 10 numerous times. The Best to You is in the business of delivering memories!
The Best to You team takes that very seriously. We deliver joy and good will. We build grand displays of appreciation. We send “you can do it!” style encouragement, and “we’re all thinking of you” style comfort. We deliver “work of art” welcomes and memorable farewells. We deliver fun and excitement that create impromptu celebrations. We send morale skyrocketing with our employee thank you gifts and deliver warm, fuzzy feelings of home with our college care packages. We’ve been responsible for expedited wedding proposals, rekindled romances, and when someone’s having a horrible day, we can change tears to smiles.
Our team of creative imagineers is constantly thinking of new and unique designs to thrill and delight. They are master memory makers! If you ever have a custom request, a question, or just need some additional information, feel free to call. We love hearing from you!
In this episode, I’ll share with you how we are being measured on our influence by various sites like Klout, Kred, Brandify and PeerIndex. I’ll share why I think this is how you should measure your influence, rather than the number of followers, fans, etc you have on each of your social media sites.

Today I am speaking with Jillian Darlington creator and founder of the MomCo App. She is a single mom, former small business owner and entrepreneur here in San Diego.
Being a full time mom to my son and getting to spending time with my friends and their children was something that meant so much to me and made me so happy, I was unwilling to give it up for a 9 to 5 job. Fate intervened at that time when a girlfriend told me that my favorite indoor playground was for sale. I got a loan and put in an offer that same week. I owned Play Town for almost 4 years. Owning my own business gave me the flexibility to be with my son as much as I needed to be and I got to spend my work time with children and parents. I got to keep my world intact. Helping parents and making children happy seems to be what I do best and nothing makes me happier.
Today my guest is Lola Juris. Lola’s major passion is water-media, and she finds the inquisition of shapes a constant source of exploration. She prefers an intimate view, focusing on lush, lyrical shapes that display a sensuality bordering on the erotic. Her play of colors hopes to illuminate the shadows of the heart.
Her recent works reflect a continuing departure from the direct influence of nature, and they establish an ethereal atmosphere that searches for what to reveal and what to conceal. She uses the self as a filter to explore the world around her. In this way she articulates herself.
“Each image is an invitation into a personal and intimate world into which I plan to seduce the viewer. Therefore, watercolor’s unpredictability and delightful happenings that appear without apparent effort, suggest a communication with accidents that make it the perfect medium for this adventure.”
Today my guest is Patricia Rundblade, The Personal Advancement Group. Patricia is a results-oriented development coach who focuses on providing practical results and continuous progress. She has developed and acquired many tools, tips, and strategies over her personal and professional experiences.
Patricia has always held herself to a higher standard, and has pushed herself in the areas of education and personal growth. Patricia’s first book is underway, as well as her training program for an upcoming half marathon.
Patricia makes it a point to give back to the world around her by serving the foster youth programs in her local city, as well as other organizations supporting our military and veterans’ populations.
Mindi Davis is the oldest of four kids born to the fun loving First Family of hard working rednecks. As a baby, she came home from the hospital in a garbage truck. No joke! She wasn’t allowed to join Girl Scouts after she told the leader how to start a fire with gasoline. Her father greeted her boyfriends with hunting rifles, until she met an officer and a gentleman named Tom.
At their wedding, a groomsman swatted her on the behind with a sword and announced, “Welcome to the Navy Mrs. Davis.” While stationed in Japan, Mindi gave birth to their Autistic son, Tristan, 10 weeks premature. Two years later, their ultra-artsy daughter, Abbi, showed up 8 weeks early. They are still impatient.
Mindi is a published author, speaker, former feature writer for the Tampa Tribune, and blogs on her website Maternalmanager.com. She shares her experience to teach mothers it’s not about where they are from or where they are at- its where they want to go. She provides them with strategies to become the mother they want to be.
